TUTORING PROGRAMS
(Literacy DuPage)
WHO IS LITERACY DUPAGE?
Literacy DuPage offers assistance to individuals who want to improve their
English speaking, reading
or writing skills. Literacy DuPage serves individuals of Dupage County that
are unable to attend classes
offered by educational institutions because of difficult circumstances or
family obstacles. Trained
volunteer tutors meet with a student or small group for 2 hours a week at a
location that is accessible
to the student. The pantry is available as a meeting location.
Tutoring sessions generally continue for
at least a 3 month period. The student’s skills will be assessed before and
after this 3 month segment.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR SERVICES?
Literacy DuPage works with clients who live in DuPage County and do not
attend any other classes or
school. Tutoring services focus on beginner and intermediate level students
of English. Each prospective
student will first meet with a LDP staff member to learn more about the
program.
Individuals who are NOT pantry clients should contact Literacy DuPage
directly (630-416-9465) for
information on tutoring services.
