VOLUNTEER INCOME TAX PREPARATION (VITA)
WHAT IS VITA?
VITA is an IRS sponsored service that offers free volunteer income tax
assistance to any household with an income under $49,000 for 2011.
Volunteers are trained and certified through the IRS to assist clients with
their taxes;
however, they are not usually professional tax preparers. There is no charge
for this service.
Loaves & Fishes VITA volunteers will complete both state and federal tax
returns online for clients, however,
business returns are not accepted. Online tax preparation allows quick and
simple filing of returns for our clients – they will not need to mail in
their returns. Clients should bring all of their tax-related documents when
they come in.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
Any household with an income under $49,000 last year can request
assistance.
Households must be current residents of Naperville, Illinois or DuPage
County, Illinois.
WHEN IS IT AVAILABLE?

April 14, 2012, the end of tax season.
