Did you know that 1 in 5 kids can't count on three meals a day? Now, kids aged 6+ can help feed other local children via service parties at Loaves & Fishes! In groups of 6-12 (accompanied by one adult for every 4 children), kids can learn about our mission by watching a brief video then get directly involved in one or more of the following:
- Build emergency food boxes
- Pack healthy snack bags for kids
- Bundle diapers for babies
- Fill the shelves of our grocery market
This is the perfect opportunity for scouts, teams, faith youth groups or neighbors to spend 1-2 hours doing hands-on activities that benefit our community! We are currently booked through Spring 2015; however, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org to check for future availability!
Calling all high school students! After completing an orientation, teens can work side-by-side with a parent/grandparent in our grocery market, warehouse or parking lot! We also have Teen Time, when teens can join other teens for a volunteer shift under the leadership of our experienced volunteers. For more information, click here.
Are you looking for a fun children’s birthday celebration in a new setting? Consider holding your child’s birthday party at Loaves & Fishes! We have launched our KidsCare2 parties on Saturday afternoons for kids between the ages of 6 to 12 years old (limit 12 children per party). Loaves & Fishes volunteers lead interactive activities, such as a scavenger hunt, shopping spree game, and name that food game. The best part is these games are both fun AND educational!
We will provide the space and the entertainment, and we ask that you supply the party food and necessities. Check out the materials below for more information, and please e-mail email@example.com with any additional questions. We look forward to making your child's birthday a memorable one!
Loaves & Fishes loves working with schools to educate students about hunger in their community and inspire them to work to end it. Here are ways we can work together:
- Invite a Loaves & Fishes representative to speak to your class, club, or all-school assembly
- Organize a tour of our facility for a class or a group of grade-level representatives
- Sponsor an all-school food drive/donation competition
