Loaves & Fishes Client Letters

"To everyone at Loaves & Fishes:
How can I begin to thank you for giving us hope and strength, knowing that at the very least our family will have a meal to share each night. My husband’s company was bought out, leaving our family penniless. Thank you for the blessings you have brought to our family. For caring about whether or not we have food to eat or something as compassionate as a birthday cake for our kids. We love you.”

"I just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you thank you thank you! ever so much for your kindness and generosity to me and my family. Without you and this pantry and the many people that donate to you, to help you help others. I don’t know how I would make it from week to week. You guys have been a big help. Especially through the holiday season. Thank you for even thinking enough of the little people to supply them with juice boxes and fruit snacks. My family and I just want to say you guys are doing a great job.”

“To everyone at Loaves & Fishes,
Thank you all so much for your assistance and generosity. I was really scared the first time I came in. I felt like a failure because I could not afford my medical bills, mortgage and groceries. Everybody there was so nice though. I sleep much better at night now knowing that while there is still a pile of bills, I do not need to spend nearly as much at the grocery store. Thank you all so much. You will never know how much this means to me.”

"I thank God for those who share their time and love to assist those in need. It is embarrassing for me to come but with five children and an unemployed husband, my choices are few. I’ve lived in this community sixteen years and I love the people. Thank you so much for your love.”

"I lost my career three years ago. I have no one to fall back on. I heard about Loaves & Fishes through a friend. I was completely ashamed about having to get handouts of any kind. I have always been a very self-reliant person. When I came here I was treated with kindness and dignity. I have started a new career and I don’t need Loaves & Fishes as often but I always know that it will be here when I need it.”

“Christmas in action. Giving every day of the year. Donors with generous hearts throughout the year. Volunteers with kind eyes, sweet voices and a joke or two. Surprises stock the shelves. They decorate my table, nourish my children and quiet my worries about the next meal. I am so very grateful for being one of the many fed by Loaves & Fishes.”

"For the past two months I have experienced the toughest job hunt of my life. I have been welcomed with warm sincerity by the volunteers at Loaves & Fishes. They have been kind and understanding through this very difficult time in my life. They have helped me and my family stay afloat. I am more confident in my job search because, at the very least, I don’t have to worry about feeding myself or family.”

"The food pantry here has been a blessing. I have lost my job due to illness. I therefore am pleased to I have a place to receive food. I have no income and this does help. The best part of the pantry is that I am free to select items that my family needs. We have dietary restrictions (my son is a type 1 diabetic) so getting some foods that he needs is most helpful. I’m glad the pantry is here to help.”

“Loaves & Fishes has saved me. I don’t know what I would do to get through some months without it. Thank you. You have no idea the pressure it takes off of me trying to feed my children.”
