Loaves & Fishes depends on committed people like you to meet the Pantry’s mission of ending hunger in our community. We need volunteers to receive, inspect, sort, stock, bag, distribute, and deliver food to our neighbors in need!

Updated Age Requirements

Because we want to ensure volunteering is safe and enjoyable for all, Loaves & Fishes Community Pantry recently changed the age requirements for volunteers. Effective immediately, anyone who is 14 or 15 may volunteer with a parent. Those who are 16 or 17 years old can volunteer on their own.

Teen Time:

Teen volunteers ages 14-18 can register for Teen Time, which is held:

Tuesday afternoons from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Sunday afternoons from Noon to 2 p.m.

You must pre-register to volunteer at Teen Time.

Younger than 14? Your help is needed, too!
Here are great projects that children age 13 and under, scout troops, school classes, or other groups can do to help year-round:

Collect and assemble paper and plastic bags* for Pantry distributions.

Assemble and decorate Birthday Bags*. Birthday Bags are given out to children during Client Choice. Bags can be decorated with markers, crayons, etc. and should be filled with cake mix, frosting, candles, plates, napkins, party table cloths, streamers, cards, invitations. (Please specify boy or girl.)  The children may also donate an item from our “Most Needed Items” list on our donations page.
* Please check with our office before you assemble or donate bags or Birthday Bags. Thank you.

Sponsor Bake Sales or “No-Bake” Sales where would-be bakers have the option of sending in a donation instead.

Collect Cash Donations outside local grocery stores.

Participate in the
Letter Carriers’ Drive on the 2nd Saturday in May.
