With your help and compassion, last year Loaves & Fishes provided food and support to 19,800 individuals or 5,776 families. Together we can create a future where struggling families have access to the resources they need to help them overcome barriers, improve their lives and become self-sufficient.
Cars donated by the community are repaired and given to families who lack reliable transportation to get to work.
A walk-in diabetes clinic offering free health screening is scheduled every 4th Thursday in partnership with Midwestern University. It is open to the public.
Semester-length weekly classes to improve reading, writing, listening and speaking skills are offered in partnership with College of DuPage
Emergency financial assistance for basic needs such as rent and utilities is available.
A professional counselor is available to provide care and support for individuals experiencing emotional challenges.
Monthly small group discussions and one-on-one individual sessions are available to help with personal finances and money challenges.
Need Help with your Tax Return? Loaves & Fishes is an IRS-approved VITA site, offering FREE help on state & federal tax returns for low-income households. (Annual income of $60,000 or less)
Meet with a resource specialist to discuss family needs and learn about agency and community resources.
Loaves & Fishes has certified volunteers who can help determine eligibility and provide consultation for these public benefits: SNAP (LINK card), LIHEAP (DuPage County only), Medicaid, and Access DuPage.
This 16-week course is offered twice a year and is designed to help individuals explore their personal situation and develop a future story.
