One More Week to Corner Hunger

Text Box: News & Events

How has the current recession affected Loaves & Fishes?

Loaves & Fishes has offered our community a constant source of food and hope for 25 years. More than ever in these challenging times, our services are both needed and appreciated by those unable to provide sufficient food for their families.

How does Loaves & Fishes meet the increased demand?

Community grocers, like Casey’s Foods, Costco, Dominick’s, Great Harvest Bread, Jewel-Osco, Michael’s Fresh Market, Trader Joe’s, and Whole Foods, regularly donate perishable goods and host food drives. Supporters contribute money, food, toiletries, and  cleaning supplies. Our network of more than 300 volunteers collects, sorts, stocks, delivers and distributes food and personal supplies to our neighbors in need.
Client Choice empowers families to choose foods they like and will use, while providing a cost-effective  distribution model that also allows us to provide more food to each family.

You Can Make a Difference!

Your financial support, combined with our cooperative buying power and tax-exempt status, converts $5 into $50 worth of food for a hungry family!

Your donation of food demonstrates your commitment to caring.

Your donation of time means we have enough volunteers to perform all the tasks needed to get food into the hands of the people who need it.

Hunger is a year-round problem. We can turn your $5 donation into $50 worth of food for a hungry family.
