Egg prices have surged nearly 60% in the past year, according to The New York Times, turning an everyday staple into a luxury. Overall food prices rose by almost 24% between 2020 and 2024, making essentials like milk, eggs, and fresh produce harder to afford. With rising food costs, rent, gas prices, and other essential expenses stretching household budgets, more people are turning to Loaves & Fishes for help—a number that will likely continue to grow.
