Volunteer Opportunities
FAMILY VOLUNTEERING is on pause at this time.
During this 1.5 hour family volunteer event, you will pack family meals for our client children, learn more about the many programs Loaves & Fishes offers, tour our market, and participate in a fun activity for the whole family! Learn about the importance of eating nutritious food, giving back to others, and ending food insecurity. Children must be ages 5 to 13 years old and at least one parent must attend. Due to safety reasons, no younger siblings can be permitted. Please wear close-toed shoes and dress for a cool warehouse environment. Sweatshirt, tennis shoes, or flat boots are perfect.
There is limited space, so that all that attend are engaged and supervised. Kindly note that this is not a drop in event, please register/find out more by emailing : volunteer@loaves-fishes.org
KidsCARE 2
Did you know that 1 in 5 kids can’t count on three meals a day? A KidsCare2 service event is scheduled after school for a group of children aged 6+to help feed other local children via service activities at Loaves & Fishes! In groups of 6-12 (accompanied by one adult for every 4 children), kids can learn about our mission and then get directly involved in one or more of the following:
- Pack healthy snack bags for kids
- Fill the shelves of our grocery market
KIDS CARE 2 PARTIES ARE NOT SCHEDULING AT THIS TIME.
This is the perfect opportunity for scouts, teams, faith youth groups or neighbors to perform hands-on activities that benefit our community! Please email volunteer@loaves-fishes.org to check for future availability!
School Programs
Loaves & Fishes loves working with schools to educate students about hunger in their community. Here are ways we can work together:
- Invite a Loaves & Fishes representative to speak to your class, club, or all-school assembly
- Organize a tour of our facility for a class or a group of grade-level representatives (these tours must be after 1:00 pm)
- Sponsor an all-school food drive/donation competition
