What began as a brother and sister competing to collect the most cans of soup now may become one of Naperville’s most successful food drives.
The siblings decided they would collect more cans by joining forces, rather than having the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts compete against each other. They recruited neighborhood friends for a collection table outside the grocery store.
Also present at the collection event was State Sen. Michael Connelly (R-Naperville).
“Naperville is such a giving community,” Connelly said. “Service projects like this say a lot about our community. That spirit of giving is just part of the DNA that pervades our whole region.”
