Building purchase to help Loaves & Fishes expand CARES programs | Chicago Trib, August 31, 2026

Loaves & Fishes Community Services has purchased a 10,000-square-foot office building adjacent to its Naperville Market, marking another major step forward for the organization’s expansion of its services. The new space will help Loaves & Fishes scale its CARES Programs, which provide wraparound support to help families build greater stability. Together with a major expansion of the organization’s Aurora Food Distribution Hub, this investment will position Loaves & Fishes to serve more families across the region with both healthy food and personalized support.

Loaves & Fishes Community Services has closed a New Markets Tax Credit transaction that will generate approximately $2 million in net proceeds to help expand healthy food access and connect more neighbors with programs that support self-sufficiency. This work is part of the organization’s $15 million Nourish Together Campaign, which will build the capacity, partnerships, and infrastructure needed to serve more neighbors across DuPage, Kane, Kendall, and Will Counties.

Loaves & Fishes Community Services is pleased to announce the appointment of three board members: Nancy Couch, McKenzie Kuhn, and Thomas J. Schnell. Each brings a wealth of expertise and a strong commitment to community service, enhancing the organization’s leadership as it continues to serve families in need across DuPage, Kane, Kendall, and Will counties.
