Cars donated by the community are repaired and given to families who lack reliable transportation to get to work. Eligible individuals must go through an application and documentation process.
Learn basic computer skills at your own pace. Free classes in computer skills and software are held at Loaves & Fishes. Classes meet once a week for seven weeks and last 90 minutes. Enrollment is limited. Classes are in partnership with People’s Resource Center.
DIABETES PREVENTION HEALTH CLASSES
Please join Loaves & Fishes for a series of free educational sessions on diabetes prevention and health management, sponsored by Midwestern University Chicago College of Pharmacy, American Pharmacists Association - Academy of Student Pharmacists. Sessions will be offered monthly, beginning Thursday, January 22, at 5:30 pm, and are open to the community. Free blood pressure screening and blood glucose testing will also be available. EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Emergency financial assistance for basic needs such as rent & utilities is available to residents of Naperville or members of a Naperville congregation. Eligible individuals must go through an application and documentation process.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE CLASSES
Develop the reading, writing, listening and speaking skills necessary for work, education and everyday communication. Classes are held 9:00 am to noon during Fall, Spring and Summer Semesters. Classes are taught by College of DuPage. Register at the Loaves & Fishes reception desk.
JOB SEARCH SUPPORT
Job coaches offer technical and practical job search support for anyone who is unemployed or looking for a job change. Work one-on-one at Loaves & Fishes with a coach to improve your resume, networking techniques and interviewing skills. Make an appointment with Loaves & Fishes to get help with your job search. Sessions are in partnership with Community Career Center.
Monthly small group discussions and one-on-one individual sessions are available to help you with your personal finances and money challenges. Offered in partnership with H.O.M.E. Dupage, Inc. Sign up now at the reception desk.
PUBLIC BENEFIT ASSISTANCE
Affordable Health Care (ACA)
Work with a certified Illinois In Person Counselor who will assist you with affordable health care coverage through Get Covered Illinois. Documents must be available during appointments. Visit Enroll DuPage website.
Illinois Supplemental Nutrition Assistance program (SNAP)
Submit your application online for additional food for your family. Benefits are provided on the Link Card, an electronic card that can be used at most grocery stores. Visit SNAP website.
Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
This assistance program helps eligible households pay winter gas or electric bills. Documents must be made available during the appointment. Visit LIHEAP website.
Access DuPage Medical Care
Access DuPage provides medical assistance for DuPage residents who do not qualify for Medicaid, Medicare or Illinois Marketplace coverage. Make an appointment to fill out an application at reception. Visit Access Dupage website.

Those who have served in the military and members of their family are invited to Loaves & Fishes to find the course of action that's right for you. Information on assistance and support programs to help with expenses and family essentials provided by: Veterans Assistance Commission of DuPage County.
VOLUNTEER INCOME TAX ASSISTANCE (VITA)
Need help with your tax return? Loaves & Fishes is an IRS approved VITA site, offering free help on state & federal tax returns for low income households. This program is active during tax season only. The maximum annual income to receive assistance is $60,000. Please call for an appointment, and don't forget to bring:
- A copy of 2016 return
- Proof of identity and social security numbers
- W-2, 1098 or 1099 forms
- Information on any other income sources
- Information on your tax credits and deductions
- Blank check for refund direct deposit
