COVID Statement

March 11th, 2020

The low-income families that we serve may be especially impacted by the economic and/or medical consequences of the coronavirus and the public reactions to this situation. Given our mission to provide healthy food and impactful programs to promote self-sufficiency, we are working very hard to fully continue our services through this challenging time.

Here are the policies and actions we have implemented to maintain an environment that will allow us to continue to serve our clients:

  • If clients, volunteers, employees and others who visit our facilities are feeling ill, or have recently been ill, we are asking them to leave our facilities and return home.
  • Clients, volunteers, employees and others who visit our facilities who are in poor health, have underlying health conditions that put them at risk or have other concerns about their personal health should make their own assessment and determine whether they should stay home.
  • We are providing and offering disinfectant wipes for people to wipe down shopping carts, their work area, door knobs, etc.
  • We are encouraging everybody to wash their hands frequently and have provided handwashing instructions in various areas in our facilities.

It is important that each person take responsibility for their own hygiene, including washing hands, monitoring their own health, etc.  We encourage everybody to get up to date information directly from the appropriate health organizations, such as the CDC and Edward Hospital, for prevention and treatment advice.

Thank you for your patience during this difficult time.
