We are deeply saddened, frustrated and outraged by the recent and long history of inexcusable acts of hatred and injustices in our society. Nobody should ever be subject to oppression, racism and inequity.
Loaves & Fishes strives to be a trusted resource to our friends and neighbors in need. Everyone is welcome, but discrimination is not. And while we are grounded in our long-standing core values of dignity, compassion, community, service, and hope, it is clear that more can be done to ensure that every person in our community has a fair and equal chance to live freely, with opportunity and a hopeful future.
We recognize that we must be better, do better, and make the world better. We are committed to listening, learning, and serving with compassion, dignity, and respect. We greatly look forward to active conversations that are urgent, focused and result in specific calls to action. And we are happy to host those conversations. Now more than ever, we value the strength of our community working together. Let us all step forward as one to eliminate the thoughts, words and actions that are the root cause of the horrific events that have plagued our society for far too long, and let’s do this with renewed love and respect for every single individual.
